The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has felicitated Muslims in Osun State and beyond on the occasion of this year's Eid-el-fitr.
Oyetola called on Muslims to continuously abide by the teachings and lessons of the Holy Month by extending their good deeds, kind-heartedness among other virtues beyond the holy month as Muslims across the globe celebrate Eid-el-fitr today.
Eid-el-fitr celebration marks the end and conclusion of the Ramadan fasting and occasion of the Eid-el-fitr festive.
Oyetola, in a statement from his media office, acknowledged the virtues exhibited by Muslim Ummah across the globe in the Holy Month of Ramadan, urging them to extend same beyond the sacred month as commanded by Allah and His Holy Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W).
The former Osun State Governor while felicitating Muslims implore them to use the occasion to offer prayers for the nation and success of the present administration in the country.
"On behalf of my family and the APC in Osun State, I want to congratulate our brothers and sisters in Islam on the successful completion of this year's Ramadan fasting. I pray God Almighty Allah to accept our prayers and supplications as acts of Ibadah.
"Let's continue to be our brother's keepers. Islam is known for peace and harmony. We have dedicated our times for worship during the Holy Month and it is incumbent on us as devout Muslims to extend the good deeds, kindness, and pious hearts beyond this period as commanded by Allah and exemplified by prophet Muhammad (S A.W).
"Let's continue to maintain peace and harmony and as well celebrate with moderation. It is time to offer prayers for our nation for national growth and development. Let's pray for continued peace and unity and as well pray for the current government in the country in its onerous efforts to redefine our economy and take our nation to greater heights ever known in history", Oyetola added.
