ICDA partners tech company RLG Technology to train 120 Ijesaland youths on ICT






The RLG Institute of Technology in Ilesa, Osun State today commenced with the training of about 120 indigents Ijesa youths under the cooperate social responsibility program of the RLG Adulawo Technology City, an Original Equipment Manufacturer.


The training facilitated in a partnership between Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) and RLG Technology is aimed to train the beneficiaries in ICT such as Digital TV Assemblage and Repairs, Phone Assemblage and Repairs, Computer Assemblage and Repairs; an entrepreneurship empowerment initiative.


The move according to the organizers is to empower the selected Ijesa Youth to be self-reliant through applied ICT and entrepreneurial skills development.







KAKAKIOODUA correspondent today witnessed the registration and orientation programs of the trainees at the RLG Adulawo corporate office along Ilesa-Akure Expressway .


The training program is expected to last for three months with a provision of N10,000 monthly stipends for each of the trainees. In addition, the ICDA shall provide post-training tools and equipment worth a sum of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only to each of the 100 Ijesa Youths at the completion of the training to launch them into the labor market as employers of labor.






Speaking on behalf the of Chairman, ICDA, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, who was unavoidably absent, Alagba Wale Idowu presented all the successfully executed projects initiated by the ICDA, such as unity amongst communities and Traditional institutions in Ijesaland; Construction of Ultra-modern Owa Obokun Adimula Palace in nine months after two previous failed attempts; Construction and delivery of the Community-driven NIBillion Naira Second Geriatric Centre in Nigeria, the Ijesaland Geriatric Centre; Facilitating the upgrading of the Osun State College of Education Ilesa to a full-fledged University of Ilesa; Institution of Scholarship awards for over 400 Ijesa Students at Federal Science and Technical College; Institution of Health Insurance Scheme for Ijesa Elderlies where 3,000 beneficiaries are currently enjoying on annual basis; Establishment of ICDA-LEVENTIS FOUNDATION NIGERIA PARTNERSHIP where only Ijesa Youths are currently being trained in agripreneurship for a duration of one year with counterpart fund fully paid by the ICDA to Leventist Foundation Nigeria; Establishment of Good Governance, Transparency, Accountability, and Results-Based Administration with the institution and Inauguration of Ijesaland Independent Development Monitors IIDM; Establishment of the novel all-inclusive, participatory, demand-driven Development Model called Ijesa Development Fund IDF to facilitate all year round development in all our six LGAs in Ijesaland; amongst others.





While encouraging the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity, the Executive Chairman, RLG Adulawo Technology, Alhaj Razaq Animasahun remarked that the sponsors of the program equally made available branded T-shirt for the trainees and that the best of beneficiaries after the completion of their training will have the opportunity to work in the factory line on salary. 






ICDA Vice Chairman, Rev. Lowo Adebiyi instructed the beneficiaries of the program to be discipline conscious as not to put the donors and sponsors of the program to shame.


The ICDA members present at the event included Rev. Lowo Adebiyi, Alagba Wale Idowu, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, Chief Akin Olatunbosun, Erelu Jumoke Olafadehan and Mr. Bukols Fadipe.
