Oluwo expresses concerns over prolonged service boycott by Osun local government workers... Charges reinstated LG Chairmen on council areas development






The Chairman of Iwo Local Government, Hon. Isola Kamoli Adeniyi, alongside the Chairman of Iwo East LCDA, Hon. Lawal Adeyinka, and the Chairman of Iwo West Council, Hon. Tajudeen Babatunde Ologburo, paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, to extend Ramadan greetings and discuss pressing local government matters.


During the visit, Oba Akanbi emphasized the crucial role of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in grassroots development and urged workers across the state to resume their duties to facilitate progress. He expressed concern over the prolonged service boycott, noting its adverse effects on local administration and the remuneration of traditional rulers and chiefs. The Oluwo also encouraged the council chairmen to prioritize the development of their respective councils to enhance the well-being of the people.


In response, Hon. Isola Kamoli Adeniyi appreciated the Oluwo for his continuous fatherly guidance and leadership. He assured the monarch that his administration is fully prepared to implement developmental projects as soon as local government employees resume work.


Furthermore, the leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) is currently engaging with NULGE executives to finalize arrangements for the workers' resumption. Hon. Isola Kamoli Adeniyi reiterated his commitment to ensuring a conducive and secure working environment for all local government employees, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to sustainable development and community progress.


The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both traditional and political leaders to collaborative governance and the advancement of Iwo and its surrounding communities.
