The reinstated Chairman of Ilesa East local government, Hon. Lanre Balogun on Monday warned local government officials who are on sit-at-home strike to desist from collecting dues and issuing tickets to market men and women under his jurisdiction.
Balogun described the practice as inappropriate and unacceptable while on a working visit to the popular Sabo/Irojo market with the councillors.
Balogun addressed representatives of market sections and associations coordinated by Chief Olawale Olowoyeye, Babaloja of Sabo, Irojo market and Chief Mrs Kehinde Olawale, Iyaloja Sabo, Irojo, market.

“It has come to my notice that certain people have been illegally collecting market levies and issuing tickets. This is not acceptable since the local government officials are not reporting at the office." Hon. Lanre Balogun said as he issued a stern warning to individuals involved in illegal revenue collection, urging them to desist from the unlawful activities.

Hon. Balogun and his team also inspected the 13 lock-up shops under construction located opposite the Ayeso A police station
Balogun said that the lock-up shops would be completed very soon under his watch and be sold out to interested citizens of Ilesa East local government to sell their goods, adding that interested bidders should check at the Iyemogun Secretariat of Ilesa East local government to obtain forms for the allocation process.
