Ramadan: Islamic cleric tasks Nigerians on dedicated prayers for national growth, development ...as APC national leader, Adebisi Akande organises special Ramadan lecture in Ila-Orangun




 



Nigerians have been urged to rededicate themselves to genuine and patriotic ideals through fervent prayers for national stability, growth and development.


Islamic cleric, Dr. Abdulhameed Taofeeq, while delivering his lecture at the special Ramadan lecture, organised by the pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Abdul-Kareem Adebisi Akande, called for dedicated prayers to advance the cause of the nation.


The special Ramadan lecture was organised for Muezzins (Ajinikirun) in Ila-Orangun. 


Dr. Taofeeq who is the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, acknowledged the present socioeconomic reality saying it has become imperative to complement government efforts by supporting the leaders in prayer. 


He underscored the efficacy of prayers as panacea to tribulations calling on the citizens particularly Muslims to take maximum advantage of the holy month to offer prayers for themselves and the country.


The cleric whose lecture underpinned on "Fasting and Service: Implications for Spiritual Growth", urged Nigerians to view the period of "sober reflection" as an opportunity for meaningful engagement that can have a positive impact on their lives.


"True adherence to the lessons of the holy month could significantly alter Nigeria's current state.


"It is time to rededicate ourselves to prayer not only for ourselves as individuals but also for the growth and development of our dear country", he added. 


He averred the importance of collective prayer for the nation, underscoring the role of faith in fostering unity and progres.


The cleric highlighted the responsibilities that both leaders and citizens share as outlined in the holy book just as he seized this occasion to encourage individuals to redefine their relationships with their Creator. 


The prayer and lecture session has in attendance; Muslim groups such as FOMWAN, MSS, IPMM, and Muslim faithful from far and near.
