A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Ogburu court - Ifofin road, opposite Owolowo House, Reality Group of Schools (Nursery and Primary Section in Ilesa, Osun State.
KAKAKIOODUA learnt the building whose second-storey had been decked suddenly caved in about 2am and no one was trapped or injured but there was no authority in place to carry out effective search and rescue operation at the incident scene.
KAKAKIOODUA search for authoritative response on the approval for the building plan was abortive since the Ilesa East local government planning authority workers are sitting at home.
At the time filing this report the rubble of the collapsed building still lay in piles and there is no heavy-duty equipment (Excavator) deployed to the incident scene for the search operation.
A resident of the area who preferred anonymity disclosed that the collapse of the building could probably be attributed to use of substandard materials as he had once warned the engineer on site on the size of iron bar used for the pillars.
