A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State Mr Tunmise has condemned what he called the penchant of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke to abandon projects, especially those that are located outside Ede zone.
Ajiboye, the Coordinator Osun Youth Progressive in Diaspora, said that the governor has been doing this, notwithstanding the relevance of such projects to the lives of the people. The people of Osun today are beginning to see what was previously dismissed as political antagonism as a visible pattern.
The APC chieftain, who stated this in an interview in Osogbo, said that the delay in kickstarting the Osogbo Stadium Remodeling project, five months after it was flagged off with fanfare by the governor, was not only a slap on the people of Osogbo, but an affront on the collective spirit of the Osun State people as frustration over the stalled project has escalated among those who once welcomed it with high expectations. A broken promise that mocks the hopes of an eager community left disillusioned.
It would be recalled that the Osogbo stadium Remodeling project was flagged off on November 12, 2024, and it was meant to be completed in 12 months.
However, he pointed that five months already down the line, no tangible thing has been done on site.
There have been growing murmurs about the project’s stagnation, with many questioning whether the contractor has been negligent or simply unprepared to fulfill their obligations. Whether the delay stems from poor mobilization, contractual failures, or outright incompetence remains unclear.
Ajiboye the Deputy Cordinator APC i Uniter Kindom added that “Before now, governments in Osun have not been playing apartheid with projects execution. But one can attest to the fact that this is becoming a pass time under the administration of governor Adeleke. Imagine the relocation of the Osun airport from a good and vantage location to Ede axis just for flimsy excuses. This is heart wrenching and unbelievable in an administration that claims to enjoy the mandate of the people of Osun state across geopolitical divides. Now that the governor willingly decided to remodel the Osogbo Stadium, a laudable project, why is he delaying the takeoff.
“This is a project that was slated for completion in twelve months. Five months have gone by, and all we can see is skeletal work.
Governor Adeleke is proving himself to be the quintessential “show-off governor.” Beyond the charming facade of dance moves and public joviality, a more concerning reality is surfacing. What critics once labeled as mere opposition rhetoric is now materializing into a pattern too obvious to ignore
"If this is the case, we can only remind Governor Adeleke, and his cabinet members that a day will come when immunity they enjoy today would become a thing of the past. Osun people would not hesitate to alert the relevant anti-graft agencies of any infractions as a result of abandoned projects,” the party leader dais.
"The murmurs of discontent from the people of Osun are growing louder, and his theatrics can only distract for so long. His true identity defined by mere showmanship and a pattern of touch-and-go or outrightly abandoned projects is gradually becoming evident for all to see."
